Italy: An ongoing project photographing the Umbrian hilltown of Orvieto and the surrounding countryside, including parts of nearby Tuscany. It began with photographing the unfamiliar, but while there the first time I was struck by the quality of light as experienced in the towns and countryside. What began as curiosity has become a deeper exploration of land and cityscape, and always the light.
