Light from Light
The idea for this work springs out of my 8 year project photographing the light of Italy in landscape and town. That collection, entitled Italian Light, was exhibited in Italy in the spring of 2010.

Gardens
An unconventional look at growth, death and renewal through photographs of six private gardens throughout the four seasons. Plant life, even when controlled and arranged in domesticated landscape has a beauty, tenacity, wildness, and humor that is evident through the year. These photographs are from gardens in northeastern Massachusetts.

Bob Dylan
In July of 1964, one year before his music changed from acoustic to electric, I photographed Bob Dylan for LOOK magazine. I spent time with him at his home in Woodstock, New York, in Greenwich Village, and at the Newport Folk Festival.

NYC Financial District
These photographs were made in the financial district of New York City in 1965 between January and May.
I was curious about what it felt like on the streets during the week -- there was more variety thant I expected--financiers and bankers but also stock exchange runners, sanitation workers, chauffers, and an occasional beggar.
On the weekends it was a ghost town.

Italian Light
With this project I have tried to push further into mystery and make visible entry points for seeing something in a new or deeper way. Italian light has been a vehicle for me to extend the boundaries of possibility in my work as a photographer.
